“Unusual login attempts” – your login is locked

After several wrong login codes we temporarily lock access. Here’s how to unlock your account again.

Luca Blaser·September 17, 2026

To protect your account, we temporarily lock the login when a wrong code is entered several times in a row. The lock kicks in from the sixth failed attempt – including when you triggered it yourself by mistyping.

How to unlock your account

You have two options:

  • By email: we send you an email titled “Unusual login attempts for your Steady account” with an unlock button. One click is enough.

  • Wait it out: the lock expires automatically two hours after the last attempt. Important: every further login attempt restarts those two hours, so do wait it out.

Why does this happen?

Usually it is harmless: an old code from an earlier email, a typo, or a code that was already used. Every login code works once and expires after 30 minutes – so always use the code from the most recent email. More on this: How to log in to Steady.

If those login attempts weren’t you, someone probably tried your email address. They cannot get into your account: signing in is impossible without the code from your inbox, and Steady has no passwords that could be stolen.
